Issue privacy-first credentials to your customers, members, or staff. Holders store credentials in the Checkify wallet and can present them when other businesses request verification — and you can earn a share when your credentials are used.
Data Issuer approval is separate from business verification. Both are required for live issuing.
A Data Issuer is a business that cryptographically signs credentials (such as employment proof, course completion, or membership status) and delivers them to a holder's Checkify wallet. Checkify stores registry metadata and encrypted delivery only — cleartext claims stay on the issuer side and the holder device.
Choose an issuer type (employer, training provider, membership organisation, verified business, or regulated financial institution where applicable) and issue credential types allowed for that profile.
Users connect to your issuer profile and import credentials locally. They decide when to present them to another business's Checkify request.
When a requester asks for an issuer credential proof, Checkify validates signatures, schemas, and active holder links — without storing cleartext claim values in the cloud.
When another business successfully verifies a holder using your issued credential, you can earn a share of the credits the requester pays — typically 20% when issuer attribution applies.
Pure Checkify-native proofs (human verification, age thresholds only) without an issuer credential in the request do not generate issuer share.
Approved issuers can view accruals in the business dashboard and app. Payout settlement is processed operationally by Checkify (ledger entries start as pending).
Live Data Issuer access is gated on business verification and a separate Checkify approval step.
Your business must reach Controlled Plus verification and remain approved (not suspended or revoked).
At Controlled verification you may submit a Data Issuer activation request; going live requires Controlled Plus.
After you apply, Checkify reviews your issuer type and approves your registry profile. This is a separate decision from business verification.
Register an ES256 signing key and relay credentials from your environment or the Checkify app — cleartext claims are signed and encrypted before any upload.
Use the business dashboard or Checkify mobile app (Business → Issue credentials).
Complete business verification and obtain Controlled Plus approval from Checkify.
Choose your issuer type (employer, training provider, membership org, etc.) and submit for Checkify review.
Checkify approves your issuer registry entry. Your issuer ID is tied to your business.
Register a signing key and create a relay API key. Keys stay under your control; only public material is registered with Checkify.
Holders link to your issuer profile. Issue credentials via the in-app wizard or your integration; deliver encrypted packages for wallet import.
When requesters verify holders using your credentials, eligible events accrue issuer share to your business.
Checkify never stores cleartext credential claims on its servers. Issuers sign off-platform; holders decrypt locally; relay blobs are encrypted in transit.
Most businesses begin with business verification, then apply for Data Issuer once they reach Controlled Plus.
